ELO – 40 Light Years

Charting the fascinating story of musical genius, singer-songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist and Electric Light Orchestra leader Jeff Lynne, this film celebrates 40 years since ELO's first groundbreaking hit recording.

The programme follows the band through their successes, up to their brand new ELO album – their first for almost 10 years.

Of interest is this part,

"he’s enjoying working on Joe Walsh’s new album, at the same time as writing a couple of albums under his own name, though he won’t tell us in which musical direction he’s heading."

Lynne, the bearded Svengali famed for leading the art-rock band Electric Light Orchestra, is also working on a solo album, which he hopes to release later this year. It would be the follow-up to his first solo outing, 1990’s “Armchair Theatre.”

Jeff Lynne will be presented with the prestigious ASCAP Golden Note Award during the ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO. Immediately following the presentation, Lynne will give a rare interview.
