1  ELOFANS.COM / Jeff Lynne and ELO / My personal ELO albums reviews on: May 09, 2007, 12:07

O.K.--Zoom is not the greatest "ELO" album of all time, I think we're all in agreement on that.  But it's not a "joke" either.  There are some great songs on there.  Give it another listen.

Is this an ELO fan site or what?

I didn't mean joke musically (although it's far from being one of my favourites, that's for sure). I meant 'joke' in calling it an ELO album when there's no band on it.

It's a Jeff solo album and in my opinion ought to be regarded as such.

I was wondering why do you think Zoom is a joke  ?

Try the fact that it's called an ELO album when there's neither a band nor an orchestra on it - in reality it's a Jeff Lynne solo album.

Hence, as an ELO album, it's a joke.

3  ELOFANS.COM / ELO Audio and Video / My Birmingham Roadtrip Video on: Feb 28, 2007, 08:23
Can't believe I forgot to post it here!

Myself and 7 male friends divided ourselves between a Peugeot and a pickup truck (4 in each) for a roadtrip round Birmingham last Saturday, which I videoed from the truck. It's rather sped up, partly to make it more interesting, but mainly to fit all the clips in!

You can see the other car (which is red) in front of us on many of the clips.

As it was Birmingham, I figured only one song could soundtrack this really, hence posting it here!

I'm perfectly serious - sorry if that offends you.

To this day I think Kelly is the superior singer.

It looks like yet another badly packaged version of ELO Part II's One Night In Australia to me, and as per usual, they have put the wrong band on the front... Grrr!

Don't blame the band - a bad management decision several years back had them sign away all rights to this recording, hence all these bad copies.

Sorry, sold mine on Ebay earlier this year - it was a 7" version in pic sleeve.

They used to be ELO Part II - Kelly, Mik & Lou from ELO are the principal members, with 3 others.

Do they also play songs by OrKestra, like the fabulous Dirty Old Town ?

Sadly not - wish they would, though!

ELO Part 2 Former Members. Unfortunately yes for good or bad.

Take a look at all the smiling faces of the audiences on the current UK tour before making such sweeping statements  :x

If not a complete sellout, it was pretty near. I think the security man at the theatre said they had getting on for 900 in. The theatre can hold up to over 1,000 folks, but only if they sell the 'choir' seats, which they don't do for rock concerts.

I've actually heard of "No Rewind" and that's all that remains.... -just heard about it. If I can't find it at my local retailer then it's pretty much not an album. No distribution for that album doesn't sound promising. There must be a reason for it. In the meantime, we're left with a band that covers other band's material.

Anything worth getting won't be found at your "local retailer". Do people still buy music that way?

As there's no record contract in place, it won't be on sale at 'your local retailer'.

You can get it from http://www.parthenonhuxley.com - and he'll probably put a nice little personalised card in with it - you won't get that sort of service from 'your local retailer'! Cheesy
