1  ELOFANS.COM / Jeff Lynne and ELO / Jeff performance of "Runaway" at Troubadour 12/20/2012 on: Dec 21, 2012, 10:03
Jeff Lynne came out for a two-song set of "something different," reaching back to some beloved early rock songs, including a spirited recreation of Del Shannon's 1961 hit "Runaway," with Tench on an authentic squealing organ solo. Browne called Lynne's appearance a "visitation," and the Electric Light Orchestra leader and producer followed up with Chuck Berry's "Roll Over Beethoven," an early hit for his ELO.

2  ELOFANS.COM / Jeff Lynne and ELO / New Version of Save Me Now for Hurricane Relief on: Nov 21, 2012, 10:58
A number of rock legends and some newer artists are contributing exclusive tracks (and a couple of other cool items) to help fund relief efforts in the south Brooklyn neighborhood of Red Hook. Songs After Sandy: Friends of Red Hook For Sandy Relief will feature tracks from Ringo Starr, Joe Walsh, Eric Burdon of The Animals, ELO’s Jeff Lynne, and Bob Weir of The Grateful Dead, among others.

Ringo is contributing a live version of “Wings” recorded on his latest All-Starr Band tour. Walsh’s track is a new live version of “Rocky Mountain Way,” featuring Starr on drums.

Lynne’s contribution is a new version of a song he’d written decades ago. In a statement, he said, “This is a brand new electric version of ‘Save Me Now,’ a song I wrote 22 years ago about this very subject — global warming and the need to listen and be kind to our planet. I wanted to contribute to Songs After Sandy because I feel terrible about what happened, and my heart goes out to all of the people still stuck in it and trying to work through it.”

Yes, I've seen Orchestra a few times with Glen Burtnik. He's good, but no one can replace Kelly. Also I've seen ELO with Jeff in 2001 at Storytellers and in LA. I never did see Bev with Black Sabbath though.
12  ELOFANS.COM / Jeff Lynne and ELO / Re: ELO Theme Album Rock Operas on: Feb 21, 2012, 04:30
I don't know if anybody has thought about making those albums into rock operas, but if it was done right, it could be a hit. I'd pay money to see that.

Thanks for the tip!

In the article it says, "he’s enjoying working on Joe Walsh’s new album, at the same time as writing a couple of albums under his own name, though he won’t tell us in which musical direction he’s heading."

To that I exclaim, "Couple of albums"?!!! I wonder if one of those is the Armchair Theatre remaster.
