Well you never know...before Zoom came out people were saying the same thing. Then Jeff did three shows, attempted a tour, and also played at the Concert for George. And he really did enjoy performing at Storytellers and the PBS shows. I guess it has to be the right place at the right time...

I agree with that thought. Only time will tell.

And if he does I'm going into it not expecting the old gang to be there just for my benefit. It has to be his choice.

Hi gang. Just signed up and I thought I would take my posts in a different direction by starting off with ZOOM and working my way back through the ELO albums. Some folks have never had the chance to see ELO live in concert (guilty your honour) so when I saw this DVD I fired up the old DVD player, sat back, and waited to see what Jeff had been working on all these years. Sometimes I will concentrate on lead vocals, next time guitar or drums, etc. Although there?s no arguing that the original line up has changed over the years there is no mistaking Jeff?s spirit in these songs.

The fact that he comes from the Old School of Rock and Roll heroes says a lot for his endurance. He's not necessarily swayed by the latest trends but he has tried a few when it suited him. (He's a closet disco fan!)

Still I would wager that his critics aside don't seem to want to understand that he and ELO were not meant to be "Highbrow" or "Sophisticated" for their own sake.

He's by no means perfect and he's known to make mistakes but Lynne and the others who were in ELO and on ZOOM can be proud to have another fan in their corner.

That loud guitar riff came right of left field.

Is this song really from the sessions for A New World Record?  It sounds like it could be from Zoom???

I surmise it was a unfinished tune from ANWR and later reworked and updated this year.

Go here to listen to a preview of a tune from The Remaster of A New World's Record to be out in May.

It would be nice. But you know Jeff and touring.

Unless you're a completist. Rareties albums don't necessarily sell to the general public.
24  ELOFANS.COM / Jeff Lynne and ELO / RE: tour on: Mar 27, 2006, 05:41
It would be nice. But I can't see it happening. He's a creature of the studio.
25  ELOFANS.COM / Jeff Lynne and ELO / Does Sony hate ELO? on: Mar 02, 2006, 02:58
Need I say more on Sony's lack of confiodence. They can kiss my fanny for all I care.
26  ELOFANS.COM / Jeff Lynne and ELO / WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE MORE? on: Feb 07, 2006, 12:25

I would like to see ELO join all together again. There is something magical about their music and about the members beieng together. I think they need to go back to their roots and create a whole new album with the ''good-old'' ELO sound, it would absolutely ROCK!

It wouldn't happen as the group rouster kept changing from time to time.

Better to just let the man do what he does best and not worry about it.
27  ELOFANS.COM / ELO member projects / ELO ex-members hold on tight to their roots (article) on: Feb 07, 2006, 12:21
Feh! Let them do what they want to do. Jeff isn't going to bother them and he's probably laughing as hard as I am over this nonsense.
28  ELOFANS.COM / Jeff Lynne and ELO / RE: Does Sony hate ELO? on: Jan 31, 2006, 06:04
It's not that Sony HATES ELO. To them it was a just quick way to make money out of the classic stuff.

And meanwhile Sony as a business is hanging its head in shame for producing CDs that can't be played on PCs.

I'm not beholden to their nonsense anymore after they ripped off The Dixie Chicks and other groups in one way or another.
29  ELOFANS.COM / Jeff Lynne and ELO / Re: RE: ELO in rock n roll hall of fame?.. on: Dec 19, 2005, 05:19
Even if ELO did get in, It's unlikely Jeff would show up.

That Rock Hall Of Fame is just an excuse to hyperbole the record companies.

Jeff's first wife was Rosemary, Sandy is his second ex-wife.
