This is of course short notice, but Divine Comedy will be playing at Schubas in Chicago tonight. Neil Hannon of that band is a really big Jeff Lynne fan, and apparently it shows in his music. I'm only familiar with one of their songs, so I'll be there tonight to have a listen to what I've been missing out on.

Ok, a short review of the show.  I think Divine Comedy drifts towards Barry Manilow more than ELO, and I was surprised that people had flown in from Europe for the show. These guys are bigger than I thought. I was going to talk to Neil after the show about ELO, but he was gone right after the final song.

They did play requests from the audience. I was thinking someone might shout out ELO, but noone did. Maybe next time Bill from Canada and I will stop this dude and figure out just what his ELO angle is.
