1  ELOFANS.COM / ELO Audio and Video / New ELO DVD!! on: Jun 09, 2010, 12:43
At last, a new ELO DVD!! I expect there won't be any disastrous video editing, like the "Live at Wembley" dvd.

This DVD brings together three live concerts from the earlier part of the band s career. The first is a four track excerpt from a show at Brunel University in 1973, the second a longer eight track set filmed for the German TV series Rockpalast in 1974 and finally the Fusion concert from the New Victoria Theatre in London in 1976, filmed during the Face The Music tour. The DVD makes the perfect companion piece to Eagle s Gold selling Out Of The Blue: Live at Wembley DVD

Looks great, but as an overseas buyer it's pretty pricey!

I love Face The Music, definitely one of my fave ELO albums. Waterfall and One Summer Dream are magic Smiley
5  ELOFANS.COM / Jeff Lynne and ELO / Remasters VS Original cd release VS vinyl release on: Sep 28, 2006, 01:33
I just did a side-by-side comparison of the Discovery
- Vinyl
- Original cd release
- Remastered Version

To date, I've thought the vinyl sounds the best by far, but yesterday I got the remastered version and I think it's the best now.
1) The mix is louder
2) Everything sounds much clearer, I'm actually noticing things in the mix I hadn't noticed before..

Sure, I don't have audio equipment worth heaps, but to my ears the remasters sound pretty darn good. Until recently I refused to buy any remasters cos I already own the cds. But now I'm reconsidering..

I was quite disappointed with the original cd issues of the albums, particularly OOTB and Time. I was brought up on the vinyls!! So I'll definitely be getting the new issues of them...
6  ELOFANS.COM / Jeff Lynne and ELO / More ELO Remasters set for release Sept 12 on: Sep 27, 2006, 08:23
I bought another copy of the OOTB cd yesterday, thinking it was remastered cos it was in a pack with "Discovery remastered." Turned out it was the same as my other cd, but with a different booklet..

Awesome! Of the new remasters, ANWR is the first one I'd buy.

I have the original non-remastered Australian pressing and it doesn't come close to the sound of the vinyl. So, hopefully the remaster does it justice, I'll soon find out!!
