As for the other opinions expressed by Beach & ELO-chick, yes, I too see them as a band rather than as one guy (regardless of whether or not he wrote the songs - that was his choice) doing just about everything himself and then telling the world it was just him.

and he said the same thing in his first sentence on last night's interview: "it's always been MY project, to do what I wanted to do..." and that pretty much set the theme for the rest of the show. About early ELO, Jeff said they "hired cellists and a violin player" but did not mention their names. "Other band members" were supposed to be interviewed on the show according to the blurb that came out before, but that comprised Richard Tandy and a guest Marc Bolan. Sigh.

And yes, the Zoom DVD is boring...like watching a concert of chamber music.

I got into the home page but could not click on anything. Maybe it's just today because I have been there before.

Hello again all,

Well if you've seen the live 8 concert in London and the Floyd reunion you were treated to a piece of history.
The floyd sounded great!!
If they can do it so can ELO, you never know.

Harrisburg, PA. USA

As I have posted elsewhere many times, the ELO problem is a lot more complicated to settle than a feud between two people is. Besides, I am pretty sure that Jeff was not invited.

And I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the floyd to do it again. But you are right...the sound was awesome!!!

Sorry, I just posted the bio that I have. Didn't mean to offend you if it said the same thing you said. Next time I won't bother.

Considering the many appearances Jeff makes in Los Angeles, one would think there would be fans in Cali posing questions to him as to what he's been up to, what he's going to be up to, etc... So it seems information could be gotten if only someone would ask...

Someone would have to see him first and in a place where he would be approachable. I am a Californian and I am not blase, especially not about musicians like Jeff Lynne. But I don't have a clue where he would be at a specific time and place. And I wouldn't know what to say if I saw him LOLOL  I would probably be speechless!

I downloaded some ELO videos and just watching the four or the seven together and knowing its not going to happen again... Its sad. Its always so cool to watch those guys play together. The Zoom DVD was Jeff and Richard with a bunch of session musicians and anyone believe that "we are ELO" has been sucked in to the masquerade.

Musically it was very nice but visually Jeff was a 21 century Roy Orbison.

But Jeff Bev and Kelly all made their beds so they can sleep in them now. Depsite what anyone thinks of whoever, they all made decisions that have resulted in us not ever being able to see our favorite band of muso's perform together again. As my Mum used to say, "someone should bang their silly heads together and shake out the nonsense"... LOL

I've been slammed on other forums for living in the past, told to get a life, told that Jeff can do what he wants... blah blah bloody blah.  I will always be a Jeff Lynne fan... But I was an ELO fan first and that had seven people in it.

I had the same experience and you have stated my sentiments exactly!

I wouldnt apologise. If you choose to become an artist or a any kind of figure that becomes public one has to take whatever is dished out. They cant be expected to roll in a pit of adulation 24/7. Theyre only human and sometimes that means having to face critcism and even anger (as long as its not personal).

So no I dont mind whats written here

From what I know, none of them care what the fans say about them on these forums LOL

Bob Geldof should have approached Lynne and the boys, and made em an offer they couldnt refuse! Told em he would say they dont give a damn about Africa!  That would reunite em pretty quick!

My point was, how do we know that Bob Geldof wants ELO there? Maybe he doesn't!

Louis Clark summed it up by saying the band _THE ORCHESTRA_ is the best it has sounded in 27 years. I would love to see THE ORCHESTRA in concert. It would be much better than going to see Jeff and the ZOOM robots. I have two choices, I can either watch the ZOOM robots or buy their DVDs or buy another ELO Greatest Hits CD or buy NO REWIND and go and see THE ORCHESTRA. I think the latter would be the most worthwhile thing to do. THE ORCHESTRA can pretty much stand up by itself. Eric and Hux should phase out the older songs and write more new material.. seems fair.

You rock!!

Does anyone know what Jeff Lynne's middle name is?

Also,  does he have brothers or sisters?

Jeff Lynne's parents were called Phil and Nancy. Jeff's birth certificate said only "Jeffrey Lynne." He has no middle name. He has one brother and two sisters. He was previously married in 1970 to Rosemary (surname unknown) but divorced in 1977. In 1979 at the age of 31, Jeff married Sandi Kapelson, whom he had met three years earlier at a Jet Records party. They secretly married in California and traveled to Switzerland for their honeymoon. They later had a daughter, Laura, born on 7 December 1979. Two years later their second daughter Stephanie was born. At the end of 80's Jeff's mother died.

It is very interesting that nobody replied to my Floyd comaprison (if they can do it.....)!!!   Instead they begin starting to talk about Dave Morgan !!  Who gives a shinealittlelove about Dave Morgan?Huh  Its like talking about david coverdale in Deep Purple, or DIO in Sabbath! People want Ian Gillan, and Ozzy, respectively!! So cut the crap, and respond to my "If Gilmour and Waters can patch things up...." piece!

Such is the way of message boards...they drift off topic after the second reply LOLOL

I agree with your first post. If Waters and Gilmour, after washing their dirty linen in public, have reunited for Live 8 - then anything could happen. Right now it seems that they reunited just for that, but time will tell.

And ELO? Well, it is possible that Jeff wasn't invited to reunite the band.

2 more quick things....ELO_chick, the only aggression you should worry about is from the P.L.O., not anything ELO-related!

Again I direct you to my post...I said you should know the answer to a question before you ask it. It was a joke. Where do you see the word "agression"?

So ELOISM and ELO_chick seem to think that anyone who claims "in their profession" to understand aggression can kiss my you-know- what !!

Without even reading the rest of your tirade I want to correct your first statement. Go back and read my post again. I said that you should know the answer to a question before you reply to it. I DID NOT SAY OR IMPLY ANY MORE THAN THAT!!!!!
